English translation
2965. It was narrated from Jâbir that the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ performed Tawâf, walking rapidly (Raml) for three circuits, and walking at a normal pace for four. Then he recited: “And take you the Maqâm (place) of Ibrâhîm as a place of prayer.”[1] and prayed two Rak'ahs with the Maqâm between him and the Ka'bah. Then he touched the Corner, then he went out and said: 'Aş-Şafâ and Al-Marwah are two of the symbols of Allâh. We will start with that with which Allâh started.'" (Ṣaḥīḥ)
