3259. It was narrated that Abû 'Ubaidah said: "Aishah said: "The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ married me when I was nine and I lived with him for nine years." (Sahih)

3257 - أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْثَرٌ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: «تَزَوَّجَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِتِسْعِ سِنِينَ وَصَحِبْتُهُ تِسْعًا»

Commentary
Her bridal escort took place in the second year of Hijrah and the Prophet ﷺ lived in Al-Madinah for ten years. Then he passed away. In this narration; "Married me when I was nine" means "I began living with him when I was nine."
