English translation

3845. It was narrated that 'Uqbah bin 'Āmir said: "My sister vowed to walk to the House of Allāh, and she told me to ask the Messenger of Allâh ﷻ about that. So I asked the Prophet ﷺ for her and he said: 'Let her walk, and let her ride.'" (Sahîh)

Commentary

Going on foot is not beneficial, and it is not prohibited either. Besides, going on foot is possible. Therefore, this vow should be fulfilled, or one may perform expiation or the Kaffarah. There is no mention of expiation in this report. But some other narrations provide evidence for expiation.
