English translation

4381. 'Alī said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ commanded us to examine the eyes and ears (of animals for sacrifice)." (Hasan)

Arabic text

4376 - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَنَّ سَلَمَةَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ كُهَيْلٍ أَخْبَرَهُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ حُجَيَّةَ بْنَ عَدِيٍّ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ: «أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَسْتَشْرِفَ الْعَيْنَ وَالْأُذُنَ»
