Text and translation

English translation

5323. It was narrated that Sahl bin Sa'd said: "A woman brought a Burdah" - Sahl said: "Do you know what a Burdah is?" They said: "Yes, it is a cloak with a woven border" - and she said: 'O Messenger of Allâh, I wove this with my own hands for you to wear.' The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ took it as he had need of it, then he came out to us and he was wearing it as his Izâr (lower garment)." (Sahih)
