Commentary

Allâh's Messenger ﷺ generally performed the prayer (Salât Al-Fajr) in the early phase of semidarkness (known in Arabic as Ghalas) and completed it also in the semidarkness. Therefore, when the womenfolk used to go out (of the mosque) to return to their homes, with their wrappers draped over themselves, nobody would recognize them, on account of the lingering darkness (Ghalas).
