English translation
733. It was narrated that Abū Sa'eed bin Al-Mu'allā said: "We used to go to the marketplace in the morning at the time of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, and we would pass through the Masjid and pray there." (Da'if)

732 - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ أَعَيْنَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبٌ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مَرْوَانُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، أَنَّ عُبَيْدَ بْنَ حُنَيْنٍ أَخْبَرَهُ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُعَلَّى قَالَ: «كُنَّا نَغْدُو إِلَى السُّوقِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَمُرُّ عَلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَنُصَلِّي فِيهِ»

Commentary
If one does not intend to halt and merely moves past a mosque, even then the right of the mosque should be fulfilled. That means a prayer of two units should be offered; there is excellence in doing that!
