149. It was narrated that Abû Hâzim said: "I was behind Abû Hurairah when he performed Wudû' for Salâh. He washed his hand up to the armpit, and I said: 'O Abû Hurairah! What is this Wudû'?' He said to me: 'O Banu Farrûkh! You are here! If I had known that you were here I would not have performed Wudû' like this. I heard my close friend (i.e., the Prophet) ﷺ say: "The jewelry of the believer will reach as far as his Wudû' reached.'" (Sahîh)

Commentary
1. Here jewelry connotes light and adornment, which will be bestowed upon the people of this nation as a mark of distinction. This means their faces, hands, and feet will be radiant with light. These will be signs by which they will become known.
2. Farrukh is the name of one of the sons of Prophet Ibrâhîm ﷺ, most of whose descendants are Persian. In other words, Bani Farrukh signifies the Persians.
