English translation

2448. It was narrated from Abû Sa'eed Al-Khudrî that the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ said: "No Sadaqah is due on less than five Dhawd (head of camel), and no Sadaqah is due on less than five Awâq, and no Sadaqah is due on less than five Awsuq." (Sahîh)

Arabic text

2446 - أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، قَالَ: أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «لَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسَةِ ذَوْدٍ صَدَقَةٌ، وَلَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسَةِ أَوَاقٍ صَدَقَةٌ، وَلَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ خَمْسَةِ أَوْسُقٍ صَدَقَةٌ»

    [1] Awsuq is plural of Wasq; a volume measurement equal to sixty Shâ's. (As-Sindî).

    [2] Awâq is plural of Uqbiyah and they also say: Waqiyah. It is forty Dirhams, and five Awâq is equal to two-hundred Dirhams. (As-Sindî).
