Commentary

Shaving hair is forbidden for a Muḥrim. If cupping is applied to a part (of the body) where there is no hair, then there is no harm in resorting to cupping, because the practice of cupping itself is not contrary to Iḥrâm. If, however, it becomes necessary to shave the hair, for instance, cupping is applied to the head, then in the event of compulsion, shaving the hair and applying cupping would be permissible. But compensation for having shaved the hair shall have to be given, as Allâh's Messenger ﷺ has commanded Ka'b bin 'Ujra to do so.
