Text and translation

English translation

4429. It was narrated that Abû 'Ubaid - the freed slave of Ibn 'Awf - said: "I saw 'Alî bin Abî Tâlib - may Allâh honor his face - on the day of Id. He started with the prayer before the Khuṭbah, then he prayed with no Adhân and no Iqâmah. Then he said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ forbidding anyone from keeping anything of his sacrificial animal for more than three days.'" (Sahîh)
