English translation

4959. It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, that his grandfather said: "The price of a shield at the time of the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ was ten Dirhams." (Hasan)

Arabic text

4956 - أَخْبَرَنَا خَلَّادُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَقَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ: «كَانَ ثَمَنُ الْمِجَنِّ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَشْرَةَ دَرَاهِمَ»
