English translation

5116. It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbās that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "One of the best kinds of kohl that you use is Ithmid (antimony); it brightens the vision and makes the hair (eye-lashes) grow." (Hasan) Abū 'Abdur-Raḥmān (An-Nasā'ī) said: 'Abdullāh bin 'Uthmān bin Khuthaim is feeble in Hadīth.

5113 - أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْعَطَّارُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ مِنْ خَيْرِ أَكْحَالِكُمُ الْإِثْمِدَ إِنَّهُ يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ، وَيُنْبِتُ الشَّعَرَ» أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ: «عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ لَيِّنُ الْحَدِيثِ»
