English translation

5155. It was narrated that Abū Shaikh[1] said: "While we were with Mu'awiyah on one of his pilgrimages, he gathered together a group of the Companions of Muḥammad ﷺ and said to them: ‘Do you not know that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ forbade wearing gold unless it was broken (into smaller pieces)?’ They said: ‘By Allāh, yes.’” (Saḥīḥ) Yāhya bin Abū Kathīr contradicted him, as his other companions differed.[1]
