Commentary
It being equivalent to a third of the Qur'an is on account of its theme. Because the foundation of the Dîn rests on three elements: Oneness of Allâh, the Prophethood, and the Hereafter. On it (Surat Al-Ikhlas) is the most complete and comprehensive delineation of the Oneness of Allâh - Tawhîd.
