1076. Abū Barzah narrated that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Whoever consoles a bereaved mother, he will be clothed with a Burd[1] in Paradise." (Da'if) Abū 'Eisā said: This Hadīth is Gharīb and its chain is not strong. [1] See nos. 859 and 996.
١٠٧٦ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنَا أُمُّ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ مُنْيَةَ بِنْتِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ ، عَنْ جَدِّهَا أَبِي بَرْزَةَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ عَزَّى» ثَكْلَى كُسِيَ بُرْدًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ. هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ، وَلَيْسَ إِسْنَادُهُ بِالْقَوِيِّ.

Comforting and consoling an afflicted person and advising him to be patient, and to put his trust in Allāh ﷻ, are acts of great reward.
