English translation

1084. Abū Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "When someone whose religion and character you are pleased with proposes to (someone under the care) of one of you, then marry to him. If you do not do so, then there will be turmoil (Fitnah) in the land and abounding discord (Fasād)."[1] (Ḍa'if) (He said:) There are narrations on this topic from Abū Ḥātīm Al-Muzanī and 'Aishah. (Abū 'Eisā said:) As for the Hadīth of Abū Hurairah; 'Abdul-Ḥamīd bin Sulaimān has been contradicted in this narration. Al-Laith bin Sa'd reported it from Ibn 'Ajlān, from Abū Hurairah, from the Prophet ﷺ, as a Mursal narration. (Abū 'Eisā said:) Muḥammad said: "The narration of Al-Laith is more appropriate, and the narration of 'Abdul-Ḥamīd is not considered preserved."
