1143. Ibn ‘Abbās narrated: “The Prophet ﷺ returned his daughter Zainab to Abul-‘Ās bin Ar-Rabī‘ after six years in the first marriage without renewing the marriage.” (Da'if) (Abū 'Eisā said:) There is no harm in the chain of this Hadīth, but we are not aware of the point in this Hadīth. Perhaps this Hadīth ensues from Dāwūd bin Ḥuṣain (one of the narrators); due to his (bad) memory.
١١٤٣ - حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي دَاوُدُ بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: «رَدَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ابْنَتَهُ زَيْنَبَ» عَلَى أَبِي الْعَاصِي بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ بَعْدَ سِتِّ سِنِينَ بِالنِّكَاحِ الْأَوَّلِ، وَلَمْ يُحْدِثْ نِكَاحًا. هَذَا حَدِيثٌ لَيْسَ بِإِسْنَادِهِ بَأْسٌ، وَلَكِنْ لَا نَعْرِفُ وَجْهَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، وَلَعَلَّهُ قَدْ جَاءَ هَذَا مِنْ قِبَلِ دَاوُدَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ مِنْ قِبَلِ حِفْظِهِ.
