Commentary
ʿAdwa: Tranference of disease from the affected person to others. This narration makes it clear that disease does not pass on to another person by itself, but goes to another person by the Will of Allāh. As the first person gets some disease with the will of Allāh, the same way the second and third, and so-on get this disease by the Will of Allāh. A person, who gets sick and thinks that he got this disease from another person shows lack of trust in Allāh, he is advised instead to visit the patients and safeguard his faith and trust in Allāh. See Tuhfat Al-Ahwadhi.
