English translation

1635. 'Amr bin 'Abasah narrated that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Whoever develops some gray hair in the cause of Allāh, it shall be a light for him on the Day of Judgement." (Sahih) [Abū 'Eisā said:] This Hadīth is Hasan Ṣaḥih Gharīb. As for Ḥaiwah bin Shuraih, (the remainder of his name is) Ibn Yazīd Al-Himṣī.

١٦٣٥ - حَدَّثَنَا ‌إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ‌حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ ، عَنْ ‌بَقِيَّةَ ، عَنْ ‌بَحِيرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ ‌خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ ، عَنْ ‌كَثِيرِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ ‌عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبَسَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي سَبِيلِ» اللهِ كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ. وَحَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ هُوَ: ابْنُ يَزِيدَ الْحِمْصِيُّ.
