English translation

1887. Abū Sa'eed Al-Khudrī narrated that the Prophet ﷺ prohibited blowing into the drink. A man said: "What about if one sees something floating in the vessel?" He said: "Spill it out (removing that)." He said: "I can not drink in one breath." He said: "Then remove the cup away from your mouth." (Sahih) [Abū 'Eisā said:] This Hadīth is Hasan Sahih.

Commentary

If a straw etc., strays into the drinking water then, instead of blowing it away, we should remove it through some other method i.e., through spilling out some of the water or by means of a spoon etc. If one has a desire to drink to one's fill and needs to breathe while doing so, let him draw the cup away from his mouth and breathe outside.
