English translation

2318. Ali bin Al-Husain narrated that: “The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, ‘Surely, of the excellence of a person’s Islam is that he leaves what does not concern him.’”(Da'if) [Abū ‘Eisā said:] This is how more than one of the companions of Az-Zuhri reported it from Az-Zuhri, from Al-Husain from the Prophet ﷺ, similar to the narration of Mālik (a narrator in the chain).

Commentary

Lā ya'nihi: That which does not concern him or is not the object of his quest or need. In other words, abstinence from needless talk and meaningless activities is a necessary requirement of good faith and an adornment of personality which lends beauty to the faith of the person concerned.
