English translation

2702. Usāmah bin Zaid narrated that the Prophet ﷺ passed by a gathering in which the Muslims and the Jews were mixed, so he gave the Salām to them. (Ṣaḥīḥ) [Abū 'Eisā said:] This Ḥadīth is Ḥasan Ṣaḥīḥ.

٢٧٠٢ - حَدَّثَنَا ‌يَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ‌عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ‌مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ ‌الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ ‌عُرْوَةَ، أَنَّ ‌أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَهُ، «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِمَجْلِسٍ وَفِيهِ أَخْلَاطٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْيَهُودِ، فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ». هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

In a mixed gathering of Muslims and disbelievers, Salām will be given for the respect of Muslims.
