The aim of mentioning the ransom of one’s parents for someone is to express love, affection, honor and respect for him; after having been impressed by the service of Sa’d bin Abī Waqqāš in the battle of Uhud, the Prophet ﷺ uttered the wording of ransoming his parents for paying him tributes and for the acknowledgment of his service, the Prophet said the same words for Az-Zubair bin Awwām in the Battle of the Trench.
