English translation

(4). 3288. Ibn 'Umar said: "The moon was split during the time of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. So the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'Bear witness.'" (Sahīh) [He said:] This Hadīth is Hasan Sahīh.

Arabic text

٣٢٨٨ - حَدَّثَنَا ‌مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ‌أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، عَنْ ‌شُعْبَةَ ، عَنِ ‌الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ ‌مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ ‌ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: «انْفَلَقَ الْقَمَرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،» فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: اشْهَدُوا. هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
