English translation

3577. Bilāl bin Yasār bin Zaid [the freed slave of the Prophet ﷺ] narrated: "My father narrated to me, from my grandfather, that he heard the Prophet ﷺ say: 'Whoever says: "I seek forgiveness from Allāh, the Magnificent, whom there is none worthy of worship but Him, the Living, Al-Qayyūm, and I repent to him," (Astagfirullāh-al-'Azīmalladhī Lā Ilāha Illā Huwal-Ḥayyul-Qayyūmu Wa Atūbu Ilaih) then Allāh will forgive him, even if he fled from battle." (Ḥasan) [Abū 'Eisā said:] This Hadīth, we do not know of it except through this route.

٣٥٧٧ - حَدَّثَنَا ‌مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ‌مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ‌حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الشَّنِّيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ‌عُمَرُ بْنُ مُرَّةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ‌بِلَالَ بْنَ يَسَارِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي ‌أَبِي ، عَنْ ‌جَدِّي، سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ: «مَنْ قَالَ: أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيَّ الْقَيُّومَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ»، غُفِرَ لَهُ وَإِنْ كَانَ فَرَّ مِنَ الزَّحْفِ. هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ.
