832. Ibn ‘Abbās narrated: “The Prophet ﷺ made Al-‘Aqīq the Mīqāt for the people of the west.” (Ḍā’if) Abū ‘Eisā said: This Hadīth is Ḥasan. [Muḥammad bin ‘Alī (one of the narrators) is Abū Ja’far Muḥammad bin ‘Alī bin Ḥusain bin ‘Alī bin Abī Ṭālib].
٨٣٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَّتَ» لِأَهْلِ الْمَشْرِقِ الْعَقِيقَ. هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ.

Only four places have been mentioned in this narration of Ibn ‘Umar that from where the Ihrām should be assumed. In the narration of Ibn ‘Abbās the name of the fifth place has also been mentioned as “Al-‘Aqīq” which is located near Dhātul-Irq.
