English translation

971. Anas bin Mālik narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said that (a Ḥadīth similar to no. 970). (Ṣaḥīḥ) Abū 'Eisā said: This Ḥadīth is Ḥasan Ṣaḥīḥ.

Arabic text

وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «لَا يَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ لِضُرٍّ نَزَلَ بِهِ»، وَلْيَقُلِ: اللَّهُمَّ أَحْيِنِي مَا كَانَتِ الْحَيَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي، وَتَوَفَّنِي إِذَا كَانَتِ الْوَفَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي. ٩٧١ - حَدَّثَنَا بِذَلِكَ ‌عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ‌إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ‌عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ ، عَنْ ‌أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ؛ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِذَلِكَ. هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
