English translation

1280. Jābir narrated: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ prohibited eating the cat and from its price." (Sahih) [Abū 'Eisā said:] This Hadīth is Gharīb. We do not know of any major (known) narrators who reports from 'Umar bin Zaid (one of the narrators) besides 'Abdur-Razzāq.

١٢٨٠ - حَدَّثَنَا ‌يَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ‌عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ‌عُمَرُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ، عَنْ ‌أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ ‌جَابِرٍ قَالَ: «نَهَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَكْلِ الْهِرِّ» وَثَمَنِهِ. هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ، وَعُمَرُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ لَا نَعْرِفُ كَبِيرَ أَحَدٍ رَوَى عَنْهُ غَيْرَ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ.
