1603. Ibn 'Umar narrated that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Indeed when a Jew gives Salām to one of you, then he is only saying: 'As-Sāmu 'Alaikum (Death be upon you) so say: "Alaik (And upon you)".' (Ṣaḥīḥ) [Abū 'Eisā said:] This Ḥadīth is Ḥasan Ṣaḥīḥ.
١٦٠٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدُهُمْ فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ السَّامُ» عَلَيْكُمْ فَقُلْ عَلَيْكَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
