Text and translation

English translation

2019. Ibn 'Umar narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "The believer is not one who curse others." (Hasan) [Abū 'Eisā said:] There is something on this topic from [ʿAbdullāh] Ibn Mas'ūd, and this Ḥādīth is Hasan Gharīb. With this chain, some of them reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: "It is not becoming[1] of the believer that he curse others." [And this Ḥādīth is explanatory.]

Commentary

It is not the character of a believer to curse, taunt and abuse others, and these things are not consistent with his status and rank.
