English translation

2365. Sa'd bin Abī Waqqāṣ said: "I was among the first men who spilled blood in Allāh's cause, and I was among the first men to shoot an arrow in Allāh's cause. I saw battles with troops of the Companions of Muḥammad ﷺ. We had nothing to eat except leaves of trees and Al-Hublah,[1] such that one of us would leave droppings like the droppings of sheep and camels. Now Banū Asad have appeared wanting to instruct me in religion, (then) I would be a loser and have wasted my efforts." (Saḥīḥ) [Abū 'Eisā said:] This Ḥadīth is Ḥasan Saḥīḥ Gharīb as a narration of Bayān.
