English translation

2425. Abū Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "The people will face three presentations on the Day of Judgement. As for (the first) two presentations, they are the arguments and the excuses, as for the third presentation, upon that the records will fly into the hands. Some will take them in their right hand, and some will take them in their left hand." (Da'if) [Abū 'Eisā said:] This Hadith is not correct, because Al-Hasan did not hear from Abū Hurairah. Some of them reported it from 'Alī bin 'Alī – and he is Ar-Rifā'ī – from Al-Hasan, from Abū Mūsā from the Prophet ﷺ. [Abū 'Eisā said:] This Hadith is not correct, because Al-Hasan did not hear from Abū Mūsā].

٢٤٢٥ - حَدَّثَنَا ‌أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ‌وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ ‌عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنِ ‌الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ ‌أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «يُعْرَضُ النَّاسُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ثَلَاثَ عَرَضَاتٍ» فَأَمَّا عَرْضَتَانِ فَجِدَالٌ وَمَعَاذِيرُ، وَأَمَّا الْعَرْضَةُ الثَّالِثَةُ فَعِنْدَ ذَلِكَ تَطِيرُ الصُّحُفُ فِي الْأَيْدِي، فَآخِذٌ بِيَمِينِهِ وَآخِذٌ بِشِمَالِهِ. وَلَا يَصِحُّ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ؛ مِنْ قِبَلِ أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ بَعْضُهُمْ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ وَهُوَ الرِّفَاعِيُّ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. وَلَا يَصِحُّ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ؛ مِنْ قِبَلِ أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ أَبِي مُوسَى.
