Text and translation

English translation

2714. Zaid bin Thābit narrated: "I entered upon the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ while there was a scribe in front of him, and I heard him saying: 'Put the pen on your ear, for that is more conducive to the scribe remembering.'" (Da'if) [Abū 'Eisā said:] This Hadīth is Gharib, we do not know of it except through this route, and it is a weak chain. Muḥammad bin Zadhān and 'Anbasah bin 'Abdur-Raḥmān (narrators in the chain) are both weak in Hadīth.
