(3). 2995. 'Abdullāh narrated that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Every Prophet had a Wālī among the Prophets. My Wālī is my father Ibrāhīm the Khalīl of my Lord." Then he recited: Verily among mankind who have the best claim to Ibrāhīm, are those who followed him, and this Prophet and those who have believed. And Allāh is the Wālī (protector) of the believers.[1] (Da'if)
(Another chain) from the Prophet ﷺ with similar, but he (the narrator) did not say: "from Masrūq."
[Abū 'Eisā said:] This is more correct than the narration of Abū Aḏ-Ḍuḥa from Masrūq (narrators
in the chain). Abū Aḍ-Ḍuḥa's name is Muslim bin Ṣubāih.
(Another chain) from the Prophet ﷺ with similar to the narration of Abū Nu'aim, and "from Masrūq" is not in it.

Commentary
This Āyah tells that the relationship and connection with the Messengers is not merely on the basis of family relations and family lineage; instead, this relationship is achieved with obedience and loyalty to their mission. Accordingly, the nearest to the Prophet Ibrāhīm is Muhammad ﷺ and those who believed in him.
