English translation

331. Ibn 'Abbās narrated: "Allāh's Messenger ﷺ performed Ṣalāt on a Khumrah." (Saḥīḥ) [He said:] There are narrations on this topic from Umm Ḥabīb, Ibn 'Umar, Umm Sulaim, 'Aishah, Maimūnah, Umm Kulthūm bint Abī Salamah bin 'Abdul-Asad – and she did not hear from the Prophet ﷺ – [and, Umm Salamah]. Abū 'Eisā said: The Hadīth of Ibn 'Abbās is a Ḥasan Ṣāḥih Hadīth. And it is the saying of some of the people of knowledge. Ahmad and Ishāq said: "Ṣalāt on the Khumrah is confirmed from the Prophet ﷺ." Abū 'Eisā said: The Khumrah is a small mat (Ḥaṣīr).

٣٣١ - حَدَّثَنَا ‌قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ‌أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ ‌سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ ‌عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ‌ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى الْخُمْرَةِ». وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ، وَابْنِ عُمَرَ، وَأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، وَعَائِشَةَ، وَمَيْمُونَةَ، وَأُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْأَسَدِ وَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ. وَبِهِ يَقُولُ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ. وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ وَإِسْحَاقُ: قَدْ ثَبَتَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى الْخُمْرَةِ. وَالْخُمْرَةُ هُوَ حَصِيرٌ صَغِيرٌ.
