English translation

3695. Abū Hurairah narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "While a man was tending some of his sheep, a wolf came and took a sheep. So its owner came and retrieved it. The wolf said: 'What will you do for it on the Day of the Predator, the Day when there will be no shepherd for it other than me?'" The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "So I believe in that, I and Abū Bakr, and 'Umar." (One of the narrators) Abū Salamah said: "And the two of them were (present) not among the people that day." (Sahih) (Another chain) with similar narration. [Abū 'Eisā said:] This Ḥadīth is Ḥasan Ṣaḥīḥ.

٣٦٩٥ - حَدَّثَنَا ‌مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ‌أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، عَنْ ‌شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ ‌سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ ‌أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ‌أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ» يَرْعَى غَنَمًا لَهُ إِذْ جَاءَ ذِئْبٌ فَأَخَذَ شَاةً، فَجَاءَ صَاحِبُهَا فَانْتَزَعَهَا مِنْهُ، فَقَالَ الذِّئْبُ: كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ بِهَا يَوْمَ السَّبُعِ، يَوْمَ لَا رَاعِيَ لَهَا غَيْرِي؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: فَآمَنْتُ بِذَلِكَ أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ قَالَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ: وَمَا هُمَا فِي الْقَوْمِ يَوْمَئِذٍ. ٣٦٩٥ (م) - حَدَّثَنَا ‌مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ‌مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ‌شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ ‌سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ نَحْوَهُ. هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
