English translation

3830. Anas [may Allāh be pleased with him] said: “The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ gave me my Kunyah because of a plant that I used to care for.” (Da'if) [He said:] This Hadīth is Gharīb, we do not know of it except through this route as a narration of Jābir Al-Ju'fi, from Abū Naṣr. And Abū Naṣr is Khaithamah bin Abī Khaithamah Al-Baṣrī. He reported some Aḥādīth from Anas.

٣٨٣٠ - حَدَّثَنَا ‌زَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ الطَّائِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ‌أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، عَنْ ‌شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ ‌جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ ‌أَبِي نَصْرٍ ، عَنْ ‌أَنَسٍ قَالَ: «كَنَّانِي» رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِبَقْلَةٍ كُنْتُ أَجْتَنِيهَا. هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ جَابِرٍ الْجُعْفِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي نَصْرٍ. وَأَبُو نَصْرٍ هُوَ خَيْثَمَةُ بْنُ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ الْبَصْرِيُّ رَوَى عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَحَادِيثَ.
