English translation

426. 'Aishah narrated: "When the Prophet ﷺ would not perform the four Rak'ah before Az-Zuhr he would pray them after it." (Sahīh) Abū 'Eisā said: This Hadīth is Hasan Gharīb, it is only through this route that we know of it as a narration of Ibn Al-Mubārak. Qais bin Ar-Rabi' reported it from Shu'bah, from Khālid Al-Hadhḍhā' in a similar version, and we do not know anyone who reported it from Shu'bah other than Qais bin Ar-Rabī'. Something similar from the Prophet ﷺ has been reported by 'Abdur-Raḥmān bin Abī Laila.

Commentary

The majority hold this opinion; that if the Sunnah before the Noon Prayer are missed they may be offered afterwards and should be offered after the Sunnah that follows the obligatory Rak'ah.
