English translation

451. Ibn ‘Umar narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Offer Ṣalāt in your homes, and do not turn them into graves.” (Ṣaḥīḥ) Abū ‘Eisā said: This Ḥadīth is Hasan Ṣaḥīḥ

Arabic text

٤٥١ - حَدَّثَنَا ‌إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ‌عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ ‌عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ ‌نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ‌ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «صَلُّوا فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوهَا قُبُورًا» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

Commentary

This Ḥadīth proves that offering Ṣalāt in the cemetery is not allowed and digging graves in homes is not right; however offering voluntary prayer in the home is more virtuous.
