606. 'Alī bin Abī Tālib (may Allāh be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "The screen between the eyes of the jinns and the nakedness of the children of Ādam when one of you enters the area of relieving oneself is saying: 'Bismillāh.'" (Da'if)
Abū 'Eisā said: This Hadīth is Gharīb, we do not know of it except from this route, and its chain is not that strong.
Something about this has been narrated from Anas from the Prophet ﷺ.

Commentary
It is clear by having a thorough look at the various narrations that when entering the toilet, it is recommended to say 'Bismillāh' and 'A'ūdhu billāhi minal khubthi wal khabā'ith'. Though only one is enough as well, because some of the narrations reported about 'Bismillāh' are authentic. [Ma'ārif As-Sunan: 5/144, Tuhfatul Al-Aḥwaḍhi: 1/414].
