English translation

745. Āishah narrated: "The Prophet ﷺ used to try to fast on Mondays and Thursdays." (Sahih) (He said:) There are narrations on this topic from Ĥafṣah, Abū Qatādah, (Abū Hurairah), and Usāmah bin Zaid. Abū 'Eisā said: The Ĥadīth of Āishah is a Ĥasan Gharīb Ĥadīth from this route.

٧٤٥ - حَدَّثَنَا ‌أَبُو حَفْصٍ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْفَلَّاسُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ‌عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، عَنْ ‌ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ ‌خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ ، عَنْ ‌رَبِيعَةَ الْجُرَشِيِّ ، عَنْ ‌عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: «كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَحَرَّى» صَوْمَ الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسِ. وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ وَأَبِي قَتَادَةَ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ. حَدِيثُ عَائِشَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ.
