984. 'Abdullāh narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Beware of An-Na'i, for indeed announcing one's death is from the deeds of Jahiliyyah." (Da'if) 'Abdullāh said: "An-Na'i is announcing of one's death." There is something about this from Hudhaifah.
٩٨٤ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الرَّازِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَكَّامُ بْنُ سَلْمٍ وَهَارُونُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ عَنْبَسَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ ؛ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِيَّاكُمْ وَالنَّعْيَ، فَإِنَّ النَّعْيَ مِنْ عَمَلِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ». قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: وَالنَّعْيُ أَذَانٌ بِالْمَيِّتِ. وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ.
