English translation

2228. It was reported from 'Amrah, from 'Aishah that Habibah bint Sahl was married to Thâbit bin Qais bin Shammâs. He once hit her, and broke (some bones). So she came to the Prophet ﷺ after Subh and complained to him about Thâbit. The Prophet ﷺ called Thâbit and said: "Take some of her wealth, and let go of her." He asked: "Will this rectify the matter, O Messenger of Allâh?" He said: "Yes." He said: "I gave her two gardens as her dowry, and she owns them now." The Prophet ﷺ said: "Take them from her, and let her go." So he did that. (Hasan)
