English translation

575. Narrated Anas رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: Zaid bin Thābit said, “We took the Ṣaḥūr [the meal taken before dawn while Ṣaum (fasting) is observed] with the Prophet ﷺ and then stood up for the (early morning) Ṣalāt (prayer).” I asked him how long the interval between the two (Sahūr and Salāt) was. He replied, 'The interval between the two was just sufficient to recite fifty or sixty 'Āyāt.'
