Commentary

Besides the death of a husband, it is also correct not to adorn oneself to express sorrow for the death of other close relatives. Things of adornment and attraction should be avoided only for three days upon the death of relatives. As for the waiting period after a husband's death, she should avoid applying or using anything like pretty adornment, kohl, perfumes, etc., during the whole waiting period.
