English translation

[7127] 82 - (2821) It was narrated that Shaqīq said: "We were sitting at 'Abdullāh's door, waiting for him, when Yazīd bin Mu'āwiyyah An-Nakha'ī passed by us. We said: 'Tell him that we are here.' He entered upon him, and soon 'Abdullāh came out to us, and he said: 'I was told that you are here, but nothing prevented me from coming out to you except the fact that I did not want to burden you. The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ used to choose the right to time address us, for fear of burdening us.'"
