English translation

1397. ‘Abdullāh narrated that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Indeed the first cases to be decided between the worshippers are those of bloodshed.” (Ṣaḥīḥ)

Arabic text

١٣٩٧ - حَدَّثَنَا ‌أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ‌وَكِيعٌ، عَنِ ‌الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ ‌أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ ‌عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا يُقْضَى بَيْنَ الْعِبَادِ فِي الدِّمَاءِ» حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ اللهِ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ. وَهَكَذَا رَوَى غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ مَرْفُوعًا، وَرَوَى بَعْضُهُمْ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعُوهُ.

Commentary

On the Day of Judgement, the first thing from the rights of Allāh, performance of the obligatory prayers, will be accounted for, and from the rights of human beings murder will be the first.
