English translation

1671. Ibn 'Abbās said: "The flag of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ was black, and his standard was white." (Sahih) [Abū 'Eisā said:] This Hadīth is Hasan Gharīb from this route, as a narration of Ibn 'Abbās.

Arabic text

١٦٨١ - حَدَّثَنَا ‌مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ‌يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، وَهُوَ: السَّالَحَانِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ‌يَزِيدُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ‌أَبَا مِجْلَزٍ لَاحِقَ بْنَ حُمَيْدٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ‌ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: «كَانَتْ رَايَةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَوْدَاءَ وَلِوَاؤُهُ أَبْيَضَ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ.
